4 Ways to Find Yard Sales in Your City

garage-sale-626317_960_720There's no better time than the summer to get outside and do some yard sale shopping. Many homeowners and families prefer this time of year to host yard sales. As a buyer, you can use this to your advantage by visiting some of the yard sales in your area. The more you attend, the greater your chance of finding amazing deals. Of course, you'll first need to find yard sales in your city -- something that we're going to discuss in further detail in today's blog post.

Craigslist

Craigslist isn't used strictly for posting ads about products you wish to sell; you can also use it to advertise yard sales. Check in Craigslist's "garage and moving sales" section to see if there are any upcoming yard sales in your area. With a little bit of luck, you'll find some amazing yard sales that are near your home. Just remember to check back on Craigslist regularly, because people are always adding new yard sale listings.

Drive Around

Of course, you can always find local yard sales by driving around and looking for signs. Most "big" yard sales are advertised with several signs stating the date and location. So, get in your car (or truck) and drive around some of the residential neighborhoods in your area, looking for these signs. Whenever you come across a sign for an upcoming yard sale, make a note of when and where it's taking place.

Ask Around

When shopping at a yard sale, don't be afraid to ask about other yard sales in the area. If a homeowner is hosting a yard sale, maybe he or she knows of someone else who is holding a yard sale. Or perhaps other shoppers know of upcoming yard sales. Popping the question only takes a couple of minutes, but doing so can reveal some invaluable information about upcoming yard sales. Besides, the worst that can happen is they'll say "sorry, I don't know of any."

Yard Sale Search

One of the lesser-known ways to find local yard sales is to use the website YardSaleSearch.com. As the name suggests, this website is designed specifically for advertising yard sales. After visiting the site, click on your state of residence on the left-hand side. From here, you can narrow your selection down even further by specifying a city or ZIP code.

These are just a few of the many different ways to find local yard sales.
