We’ve probably told you this a million times, and expect to hear it a million more times: Always, always always call the storage facility right before you head out to a scheduled storage auction to confirm it hasn’t been cancelled.
It’s safe to say that this has become our mantra–but with good reason! Storage tenants are allowed to pay their debts and reclaim their property at any point prior to the auction. Thusly, it’s not unlikely for an auction to be cancelled, due to delinquent owners swooping in and paying their dues at the last moment. It’s even more likely if the facility is only auctioning off 2 or 3 units that day.
As you can see, storage units can be somewhat unpredictable. Because of the this , and other factors, there is no possible way for us to update each and every cancellation as they occur. We do our best, but it is always vitally important – if you’d like to avoid wasting your own time and money – that you verify auctions as close to the listed time and date as possible, for your own benefit. If you have any questions or concerns about an auction, give us a call beforehand, too–we’d love to help you.
Not calling ahead is one of the biggest rookie mistakes you can make. We hear about it happening all the time. It’s frustrating, discouraging, and simply a waste of your time and money. So invest a couple of minutes into calling the facility before you head out! With our great services, finding the name, address, and phone number of your facility can be done in a matter of seconds–so you’ve got no excuses!
It’s not that big of a deal to drive to a cancelled auction across town….but if you show up to a cancelled auction 2 hours away, you’re going to be kicking yourself in the pants, thinking to yourself, “Argh! Storage Unit Auction List was right!”
